Description

A heartwarming dish of Black Beans and Rice with Sausage, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 pound sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. Add the sliced sausage to the pot and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, letting the spices mingle.
  4. Add the rice and stir to coat it with the spices.
  5. Pour in the broth and add the black beans. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
  7. Fluff it together with a fork and garnish with cilantro before serving.
