- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add chicken cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, garam masala, cumin, paprika, and salt, mixing well.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
Notes
Butter Chicken can be made ahead and stored for leftovers. It tastes even better the next day.
