- 1/2 medium yellow onion (finely diced)
- 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
- 3 cups chicken stock (or vegetable broth)
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- 2–3 bay leaves
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the finely diced onion and sauté for about 5-6 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Stir in the long grain rice, ensuring each grain is coated in butter.
- Pour in the chicken stock (or vegetable broth), season with salt and pepper, then add the bay leaves.
- Cover the pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, keeping the pot on the warm burner for an additional 10 minutes.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork, removing the bay leaves before serving.
Notes
