- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Mix together the ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the greased pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the top layer of batter and cinnamon together gently.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
This cake can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge before baking. Can be customized with different toppings and mix-ins.
