- 1 (16 oz) can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
- 1 (28 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 (18 oz) box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 stick butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9’x11′ baking pan, allowing for easy removal of the cake once it’s baked.
- Add the crushed pineapple to the pan and spread it out evenly.
- Layer the cherry pie filling on top of the crushed pineapple.
- Mix the chopped pecans into the yellow cake mix and sprinkle over the fruit layer.
- Slice the stick of butter into pats and dot the top of the cake mix with the butter.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Notes
You can prepare this cake a day in advance and reheat before serving. Use a gluten-free cake mix if needed.
