Description

A heartwarming dessert combining sweet cherry filling and a buttery crumble, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
  • 1 (28 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (18 oz) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9’x11′ baking pan, allowing for easy removal of the cake once it’s baked.
  3. Add the crushed pineapple to the pan and spread it out evenly.
  4. Layer the cherry pie filling on top of the crushed pineapple.
  5. Mix the chopped pecans into the yellow cake mix and sprinkle over the fruit layer.
  6. Slice the stick of butter into pats and dot the top of the cake mix with the butter.
  7. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

You can prepare this cake a day in advance and reheat before serving. Use a gluten-free cake mix if needed.
