Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the penne according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the ground beef into the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7 minutes, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, adding reserved pasta water gradually until the sauce reaches desired consistency.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Toss the cooked penne in the creamy sauce in the skillet, ensuring every piece is coated.
  7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
