Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Start by cooking the penne according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Incorporate the ground beef into the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7 minutes, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, adding reserved pasta water gradually until the sauce reaches desired consistency.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
- Toss the cooked penne in the creamy sauce in the skillet, ensuring every piece is coated.
- Serve hot with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
