Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup homemade streusel (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced green apple until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, flattening each scoop slightly.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  9. Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and caramel sauce until smooth.
  10. Frost the cooled cookies with the cream cheese mixture and top with homemade streusel if desired.
