Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Cream cheese frosting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with melted butter, stirring until well blended.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt, letting those flavors mingle.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, bringing sweetness and warmth to the mix.
- Fold in the flour until just combined, avoiding overmixing for tender bread.
- In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together; this will be the special touch for the swirl.
- Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, followed by the remaining batter.
- Swirl the batter with a knife to create a beautiful marbled effect.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing it from the pan.
- Drizzle with cream cheese frosting if desired.
