- 1 pound ground beef (halal)
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef and chopped onions in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the browned beef and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Finish layering with the remaining sliced potatoes on top.
- Mix the cream of mushroom soup with the milk and a pinch of salt and pepper, then pour over the casserole.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top.
- Bake covered with aluminum foil for 60 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Make ahead by assembling the casserole a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
