Description
A quick and flavorful Hibachi Steak recipe that brings the lively ambiance of Japanese steakhouses right to your kitchen.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. boneless steak (like sirloin or fillet), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or mirin
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and pepper. Set aside.
- Melt the Butter: Over medium-high heat, melt the butter in a skillet.
- Sauté the Garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about half a minute.
- Cook the Steak Bites: Add in the bite-sized steak pieces and toss them to combine with the garlic and butter.
- Pour in the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the steak and toss to coat the meat thoroughly.
- Stir-Fry to Finish: Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the sauce has reduced and the beef is seared to perfection.
- Add a Touch of Sesame Oil: Drizzle sesame oil over the steak (if using) for that extra touch of flavor.
- Serve Hot: Dish it out immediately and enjoy alongside hibachi rice, noodles, or with a side of fresh veggies.
Notes
Make the sauce in advance and store it in the fridge for up to a week. Substitute steak with chicken or tofu for variations.
