- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels; season generously with kosher salt and black pepper, then let the steaks rest for 30 minutes.
- Heat avocado oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear the steaks for 2 minutes on each side.
- Add butter, crushed garlic, and fresh thyme to the skillet; baste the steaks with the melted butter for about 1 minute.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and allow steaks to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
