Description

Deliciously soft fritters filled with tender apples and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for chilly days.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the milk, eggs, and diced apples in another bowl until well combined.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
  7. Mix together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze until smooth and creamy.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and serve while they’re still cozy!

Notes

Leftover fritters can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven.
