Description

A warm and vibrant dish of stuffed peppers filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, rice, and spices, topped with gooey cheese—a perfect comfort food for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds. Don’t discard those tops; chop them for extra flavor.
  3. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Add cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring until well mixed.
  5. Stuff the mixture into the hollowed-out bell peppers, pressing down slightly.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the peppers are tender.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Stuffed peppers can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
